Delivery & Returns
Delivery
UK postage costs are as follows:
Free collection from Mocha Turtle (Tuckton), FAB Charity Store (Wareham) or lockboxes (BH10, BH6)
Standard delivery £3.20*
Cloth nappy kits £10
Priority postage (for Mon-Fri delivery only) - £8.95**
* 2nd class post. If you are in a rush for your parcel please consider using priority postage.
** If priority postage is selected your parcel will be processed ahead of other orders and, as long as your order is received by midday we will try our best to ensure your order is dispatched that day with either a private courier or Royal Mail Special Delivery (depending on the size of the parcel).
As an eco-friendly business, we will re-use packaging where possible.
Although stock levels shown on the website are usually up to date there may be times when they are not. If items are out of stock we will let you know by email as soon as possible after your order has been placed.
As long as items are in stock, your order will be dispatched within 48 hours.
If goods are not in stock we will contact you as soon as possible by email. You may choose the have the order sent out in more than one parcel, choose to swap the product or have a partial/full refund.

Parcels are usually sent out with Royal Mail but on occasion we may choose an alternative courier.
If there is no-one available at your specified delivery address to accept the parcel, the driver should leave a card with instructions for pick up. Please then liaise directly with the carrier to arrange collection or re-delivery of the parcel.
In cases where courier cards have been left at your address, but parcels not collected, the parcel will be returned to us. In these cases you may be required to pay additional postage costs for the item to be resent. Please bear this in mind if you have holidays planned and won’t be available to receive your parcel.
If you do not receive your order within 7 days please contact us.
Please note that during the Christmas period there are often delays as Royal Mail and other couriers struggle to cope with demand. During the winter months please bear in mind that delivery times can be affected by the weather due to periods of snow, flooding etc. Delivery companies do their best to limit delays but they are often inevitable.
Returns
Faulty Items
All stock is checked before being sent out, but manufacturing faults can happen. We will accept return of faulty goods, and refund your money including return postage costs. You must take responsibility for getting the goods back to us so we suggest getting a ’certificate of posting’ (free of charge) so that you can claim compensation from Royal Mail if the goods do not reach us.

Please be sure to include a note of what the problem is, as well as your name, address and original order number.
Returning non-faulty items
Goods can be returned, if unused, unwashed and in fully re-saleable condition, within 30 days of delivery. If you wish to return something beyond this time please contact us.
We will refund you the cost of the product but you must pay for the cost of returning the goods to us and postage and packing charges if applicable. We strongly suggest that you get a ’certificate of posting’ from your post office (free of charge) so that you can claim compensation from Royal Mail should the parcel not reach us.
If the goods have a retail value of more than £20.00 we recommend using a Royal Mail service that includes additional insurance to cover your goods should they go missing on route to us.

Hire
1. Contact Details
a. Your contact details must be filled in on the hire website before your first hire. A free membership will be made for you which will then allow the hire of library items.
b. Your personal details will be kept in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, and will only be used to contact you in relation to your loan and occasional events or promotions if permission has been granted for marketing.
c. Your details will be kept on the system for the 1 year membership period. You will be sent an e-mail when your membership has expired. If you do not renew, your details will be anonymously archived.
2. Loan Cost and Duration
SLINGS
a. All slings are lent subject to availability, condition and suitability.
b. Generally, 1 sling may be borrowed at a time but this is at the discretion of Bourne Green. Once a sling is returned, another loan may be made. Multiple slings may be hired at once depending on availability.
c. The minimum loan period for slings is 1 week. Each sling loan costs £7 per week. Loan fees are non-refundable, however they are transferable. Slings may be hired for a maximum of 4 weeks with agreement between all parties.
NAPPIES
The loan period for nappies varies.
Newborn:
a. For newborn nappies the hire period is fixed at 8 weeks from the day baby is born (if they are collected prior to birth). We are unable to extend this hire as there is a waiting list and most babies will have grown out of them by this point.
b. Newborn nappies can be swapped for more suitably sized nappies during the loan at no extra cost if baby has grown out the majority of newborn sizes. Please confirm this with us to arrange changeover to a suitable kit for the remainder of the hire period. The kit will contain similar items to the full newborn kit.
c. Further to this, you will need to pay standard hire charges if you wish to continue the loan after the agreed newborn hire term is up.
One Size Fits Most:
a. OSFM/BTP nappies are hired individually starting at 4 weeks minimum term.
b. Maximum hire period is generally 16 weeks to minimise wear and tear and to allow a fair rotation of prints, styles and brands.
c. With prior arrangement, long term loans may be possible with changeover at least every 16 weeks during the loan period as stated above.
3. Deposit/Card details
a. All payments for hire are done by card and no deposit will be taken (with the exception of newborn kit reservations - see details below in section 5.). We ask that you store your card details securely with our payment provider.
b. The replacement of any lost or damaged items may be taken by us from your card on file; you will be notified before payment is taken. Charges for missing components will be equal to replacement cost (including any postage costs). Charges for items damaged beyond normal wear and tear will be judged on a case by case basis.
c. At our discretion, repair/replacement costs may be reduced or waived for those with special or exceptional circumstances. We can arrange payment plans for higher value items.
4. Payment
a. Loan costs are payable by card. Card details should preferably be securely saved as this acts as your deposit for any items hired.
b. Loan fees are non refundable.
c. We do not accept cash payments, but bank transfers are possible upon request.
5. Reservations
a. It may be possible to reserve an item. You will be able to collect the item subject to when it is next available and as agreed in advance. We cannot offer guarantees for when items will become available, but will do the utmost to update you as to availability.
b. Reservation services are made available entirely at the discretion of Bourne Green and these facilities may be withdrawn at any time without notice.
c. If you do not collect your reserved sling or nappy kit at the agreed upon time and location, your reservation will be cancelled unless otherwise discussed with us.
d. Payment for reserved items will be taken in advance of collection of the item(s).
e. Newborn nappy kit reservations are subject to a deposit of 10% which will be taken at the time of booking. The remainder of the balance is due prior to collection of the kit. This deposit is non-refundable in the case of reservation cancellation; however in exceptional circumstances Bourne Green may choose to waive this at their discretion.
6. Postal Loans
a. At our discretion you may be able to hire a carrier or nappies by post. Standard fees and loan periods apply. An extra charge will be made to cover postage and packaging which will vary depending on the type of loan.
b. Postal loans are made available entirely at the discretion of Bourne Green and these facilities may be withdrawn at any time without notice.
7. Late Returns and Renewals
a. If you do not return an item on the date agreed with no prior contact, discussion or agreement with Bourne Green, you hereby agree to pay an extra week’s hire which will be charged directly to your card via our payment provider.
b. It is usually possible to renew your loan with payment charged directly to your card via our payment provider (provided the information has been securely saved) subject to maximum loan time as stated prior.
c. Under adverse or unforeseen circumstances we may reduce or waive fines for late returns as long as this has been fully agreed by us before the end of the loan period.
d. If we are unable to contact you about a loan and do not hear from you within 30 days after the due return date, we will consider the items lost/stolen. Legal action may then be taken. We may charge you an amount up to the full value of the hired items. Every effort will be made to contact you by a variety of methods first, which does not exclude personal visits to collect where possible.
e. If you are unable to return your item(s) by the agreed date due to staff illness or public holidays (including bank holidays, Christmas and Easter periods), we will extend your loan period free of charge and agree a new return due date with you. This does not include client booked holidays - it is the responsibility of customers to know when their return date falls.
8. Returning Items
a. Returns can be made on or before the due date to several agreed locations;

Please contact us if you require full address details and LockTin access codes for either site 3 or 4.
b. Postal returns via courier are an option at the discretion of Bourne Green, subject to customers arranging tracked postage to return for insurance and liability purposes. If you do not return items via tracked postage, you are liable for the full cost of any lost items.
c. If you are having difficulty returning an item due to adverse circumstances, we may be able to arrange collection within the local area for a standard charge of 45p per mile (business mileage set by HMRC) plus a small admin fee for the convenience.
9. Condition of Items
a. All slings and nappies are checked before lending to ensure that they are in good condition and working order. The borrower should also check the condition of the item prior to the start of the loan.
b. It is the borrower's responsibility to check over the item before every use. Check all the fastenings, inserts, fabrics, buckles, hems and seams ensuring that there are no tears, breaks, cracks or holes. If any damage is discovered please stop using the item immediately and contact us.
c. If you would like to wash a sling while you have it, washing instructions for all slings can be found under the relevant section of Lend Engine.
d. All nappies should be washed in accordance with instructions provided which are in line with the UK Nappy Network. Washing instructions are provided with every hire kit and can also be accessed here. If you are struggling with washing or have any questions, please contact Katy who will be happy to help.
Consultations & Workshops
Babywearing and parenting consultations and workshops are run by a qualified babywearing and parenting consultant. Nappy consultations are run by an experienced cloth nappy user with connections and access to assisting resources.
The consultation/workshop fee is taken at the time of booking, either online, or in store. This is a non-refundable fee but it is fully transferable to other dates or types of consultation/workshop at the discretion of Bourne Green. We understand that little ones can be unpredictable but please try to give us as much notice as possible if you need to cancel/reschedule - preferably at least 24 hours.
Customers are able to reschedule once if needed at no extra charge.
If you need to reschedule a second time, 20% of the consultation/workshop fee (up to a maximum of £5) will be charged for admin.
If you need to reschedule a third time you will be charged for the consultation in full again.
In the event of a total cancellation (with at least 24 hours notice), you will be charged a 20% admin fee (up to a maximum of £5). The rest will be refunded.
If you cancel the appointment without rescheduling with less than 24 hours notice, your fee will not be refunded.

In the instance that your appointment needs to be cancelled by Bourne Green for any reason and no suitable reschedule can be agreed, we will refund the full cost to the customer.
All appointments are a fixed timeslot. Please try to be prompt on arrival and appreciate that we may not be able to extend any lateness past the scheduled end time of the appointment. Where possible, we will try to run for the full booked appointment time.
