I'm Caroline, I'm a qualified Babywearing Consultant and Parenting Consultant. I have two children: Caity, born in April 2015 and Celeste, born in July 2018. I moved back to Bournemouth from Hertfordshire (where I was co running a sling and cloth nappy library) at the end of 2018.
I started babywearing when my eldest was 16 hours old and have loved every moment of it! I did a bit of research when I was pregnant with her but found it quite overwhelming and wasn't quite sure what was what! As time went on I found out more and more. Which sling is for you is such a personal choice, no one can tell you which one is the "best". What's best is to try before you buy! Everyone has a different favourite and what suits your friend might not suit you. This is where a sling library comes in! I've also used cloth nappies with both my children from birth. Much like slings, it can be personal preference with nappies about what you like and what works for your baby.
The business started out as a sling library called Seaside Slings in March 2019. I soon expanded to cloth nappies and always wanted to do more. In the summer of 2020, I started selling more and more items online and took part in CalmFamily training to become a Parenting Consultant. In September 2020, I changed the name to Seaside Parenting to better reflect all the services we offer.
In July 2021 I officially welcomed Katy on board and she now handles the nappy side of things!

I'm Katy and I have two little ones: Jamie, born in November 2015 and Abigail, born in March 2019. I discovered the natural parenting movement gradually with my first through discovering things which worked for us as a family. I've used slings with both children and have been very grateful for the support and advice we've been given to find a great solution for us.
We've been very interested in the eco side of life and parenting, which led to my love of cloth nappies. Abi has been a cloth bum baby since birth, and I used night nappies on the bigger one through later years too. I'm passionate about spreading the message to anyone who will listen!
We've learned a lot through trial and error and discovering the best solutions for us. I've been involved in some great discussion groups recently regarding the future of cloth nappies and look forward to helping more parents take the step to reducing their use of disposables - but I'm a big believer in small steps to success. Remember that it doesn't have to be all or nothing, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with taking your time to find what works.
I met Caroline at the end of 2019 when I came to try some slings and discovered that there were cloth nappy friends to be made too. I started helping out unofficially at the drop in library sessions soon after.
We reconnected when Seaside Parenting started back on Zoom sessions and I was asked if I would like to provide support as a ‘nappy enthusiast’ once we were able to run in person sessions again. Of course, I jumped at the opportunity (because anyone who knows me also knows that I love talking about nappies to anyone that will listen!) and once we got chatting, we realised that we both had a similar dream - and here we are!
